Realme 9 Pro+ Great Phone

 Realme 9 Pro+ Great Phone

Realme 9 Pro+ is a follow-up to the Realme 8 Pro, whilst the 9 Pro appears to be a spin-off of the Realme 8. Aside from the timing and name, the Realme 9 Pro+ appears to be a worthy advance over the Realme 8 Pro, and it has swayed many people even before they read the reviews.

The Realme 9 Pro+ is essentially what the Realme 8 Pro should have been from the start:

an HRR display, more powerful technology, a better camera, and stereo speakers.

The Realme 9 Pro+ now has a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED display with a 1080p resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and HDR10 support. It also has a higher-touch sampling rate of 360Hz. The Sunrise model, on the other hand has a photochromic glass screen on the back that changes color from blue to pink-orange when exposed to sunshine.

The Realme 9 Pro+ appears to be a worthy successor to the Realme 8 Pro, and we're excited to put it to the test. But first, let's take a look at the two glaring omissions on the Realme 9 Pro+.

The MicroSD slot, which was present in previous models, is the first feature.

Another obvious missing feature on this Realme, as well as previous ones, is some form of water protection, however basic. Most, if not all Xiaomi phones within the same price range are IP53-rated, and Realme should get up to speed sooner rather than later.

2- Unboxing:

Realme's trademark yellow packaging with black markings contains the Realme 9 Pro+. A 65W SuperDart charger and a 6.5A USB-C-to-A cable are included inside. If you want to use the fastest possible charging, which is 60W in the case of the Realme 9 Pro+, you'll need to use both.

Display:

The 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen of the Realme 9 Pro+ is the same as on the Realme 8 Pro and Realme 7 Pro.

It has, however, been enhanced, the panel now offers a 90Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of up to 360Hz

The Samsung AMOLED panel measures 6.4 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels (411ppi). A flat piece of Gorilla Glass 5 protects it.

The front camera is housed, in a small punch hole in the upper left corner of the panel.

Underneath the screen, the fingerprint scanner and ambient light sensor are hidden.

The display is faster than the Realme 8 Pro's, with a 90Hz refresh rate and a smooth 360Hz touch sampling rate for flagship-level responsiveness, HDR10, and DCI-P3 color spaces are also supported.

We ran a display test and found the screen to be comparable to the Realme 8 Pro.

When adjusted manually, the screen's maximum brightness is 433 nits. When we used Auto-Brightness and exposed the phone to bright light, we got a brightness of 613 nits.

3- Battery life:

A 4,500mAh battery powers the Realme 9 Pro+, exactly like the Realme 8 Pro and Realme 7 Pro.

It sports a comparable 6.4" AMOLED screen, however this time it's a faster 90Hz panel.

The chipset in the 9 Pro+ is different - Dimensity 920 vs. Snapdragon 720G - and this could result in drastically different battery behavior at times.

That isn't the case with the Realme 9 Pro+, however. Its total endurance rating of 117 hours is comparable to the 8 Pro and 7 Pro.

The Realme 9 Pro+ did very well on the on-screen tests. Its standby performance has improved since the previous models, but the 3G call time has seen a drop - these are the two tests that are always affected the most by the chipset's modem.

The Vivo V23 has the same Dimensity 920 chipset and a similar battery, and its results are on par with the Realme 9 Pro+.

4- Android 12 and Realme UI 3.0:

The Realme 9 Pro+ is one of the first phones to run Realme UI 3.0 on Android 12.

The third iteration of Realme's launcher features a more fluid UI, even more, customization possibilities across the entire system, an improved privacy dashboard and privacy indicators, a better floating window, Emojis, and more.

The phone can be unlocked with a fingerprint, and the under-display scanner is lightning fast. You may also use face unlock to unlock your phone even faster, however it is less safe.

The time, date, notifications icons and the battery can all be displayed on the always-on screen.

There are many themes to choose from, including one called AOD Sketchpad, which is brand new.

You select a self-portrait photo, and the software creates a sketch based on it.

The sketch is then used as an AOD background.

The drawing will transform into a genuine portrait photo after you unlock the screen.

That is if you enjoy staring at your mug all day.

The AOD can be battery-saving (hiding after a brief time of inactivity), scheduled, or always-on.

5- Performance And Benchmarks:

The Realme 9 Pro+ is powered by MediaTek's new Dimensity 920 chipset.

It's a 6nm device with a 5G modem built-in.

The Dimensity 920 is powered by an octa-core processor with two Cortex-A78 cores running at 2.5GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores running at 2.0GHz.

The quad-core Mali-G68 GPU in this SoC could provide acceptable graphics performance for the mid-range market.

The RAM options for the Realme 9 Pro+ are 6GB or 8GB.

The storage capacities are 128GB and 256GB, respectively, and the storage is UFS 2.2.

Dual 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and dual-band GPS are among the latest connection protocols supported by the Dimensity 920 chip.

It's now time for a benchmark!

In this pricing range, the Dimensity 920 CPU is a true champion. The Cortex-A78 cores are real powerhouses, easily ranking among the finest in the class. The CPU results are almost 40% higher than those obtained with the Realme 8 Pro.

A total of four cameras, no depth sensors:

On the back, the Realme 9 Pro+ has a triple camera arrangement with a 50MP OIS primary camera, an 8MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro camera, for selfies, there's a 16MP front camera.

The depth sensor, which we usually get on the rear, is one obvious omission, but we'd gladly swap it for OIS.

The Realme 9 Pro+ has a 50MP Sony IMX766 1/1.56" sensor with 1.0m pixels and a Quad-Bayer filter as its primary camera. This sensor is combined with a stabilized 6-element 24mm lens with an f/1.8 aperture, this camera has a Night Mode option.

This camera appears to have a 2x lossless in-sensor zoom, which should maintain details and colors without over-sharpening, In a few moments, we'll put this to the test.

New and improved shooting modes are possible thanks to the new hardware and sensor.

Ultra Nightscape video is now available, as well as Smart Long Exposure for Night Mode and Street Photography Suite 2.0, which includes Light Trail Portrait (traffic portrait), Neon Trail (for cars and roads), Light Painting, Rush Hour (blurring/removing moving people but the static subject), Peak and Zoom, and a new 90s Pop filter.

There's also a new camera engine that removes noise and sharpens detail in low-light photos.

6- The competition:

The Realme 9 Pro+ is a well-rounded smartphone with a pleasant personality.

It has a smooth AMOLED screen, a strong chipset with a 5G modem, excellent quality, long battery life, and lightning-quick charging.

We also like the new Android version and the Realme UI.

Realme has a history of offering reasonably priced mid-range smartphones, and this is no exception.

However, the market has been struggling recently, and while the €380 price tag of the Realme 9 Pro+ is competitive, it may come as a surprise to some of its core fans who expected the phone to cost about €280-€300.

So, let's have a look at what's available in the €380 range.

The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G is the first smartphone that comes to mind. It's an IP67-rated smartphone with a 120Hz Super AMOLED screen, a somewhat more powerful Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset, and a similarly versatile rear camera with a stabilized lens.

Topics may interest you:

Aside from ingress protection, the A52s outperforms Realme with a superior 12MP ultrawide camera, a microSD card, and a €20 lower pricing.

However, the Galaxy's 25W charging is not near as quick as the Realme's.

Then there's Xiaomi's new Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G, which is €10 less expensive than the Realme. In comparison to the 9 Pro+, the Note 11 Pro 5G sports a larger and quicker Super AMOLED screen, water protection, and a 108MP primary camera.

The Realme 9 Pro+ on the other hand, outperforms the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G with much faster graphics performance and an OIS lens on the main camera, and if we had to choose between the two, the Realme 9 Pro+ has faster performance and the better camera would easily sway us to choose it over the Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G.

The price of the OnePlus Nord 2 5G is the same as the Realme 9 Pro+.

The Realme 9 Pro+ appears to be a repackaged Nord 2, with a screen, camera configuration, battery, and charging features that are all similar.

With its flagship-like Dimensity 1200 5G chipset, the Nord 2 is a quicker smartphone, and we recommend you investigate it before choosing the Realme 9 Pro+.

7- Pros and Cons:

Pros:

  • AMOLED display with a refresh rate of (90Hz).
  • Exquisite glass design with a photochromatic back
  • Extensive battery life and quick charging.
  • Extremely loud stereo speakers with excellent sound.
  • Gaming-capable chipset with 5G connectivity and 128GB of base storage.
  • Excellent primary camera for both day and night.
  • Android 12 with Realme UI 3.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, and Wi-Fi 6

Cons:

  • At first, it appeared to be a bit pricey.
  • There is no microSD card slot.
  • There isn't any splash protection.
  • In videos, the ultrawide camera's field of view is ludicrous.
  • There will be no HRR gaming.

Conclusion:

The photochromic design, fluid AMOLED screen, flagship-grade camera, and incredibly fast charging make the Realme 9 Pro+ stand out. Realme is known for offering powerful phones at low prices, and the Realme 9 Pro+ is shaping up to be one of the best mid-range options available right now.

Remarkably, the Realme 9 duo arrives about a year after the Realme 8 series launched. Until now, the corporation had followed a 6-month release schedule. Thank you for spending some time reading my content. We hope it helped you...
